A native of Nassau, Sharon returned to Nassau in 2008 after a 30-year absence having lived in Freeport, Grand Bahama and West Palm Beach, Florida. She joined Mario Carey Realty in March 2011. As Operations Manager, she oversees the day to day running of the business, all compliance matters, facilitates the Sales Agents, and supervises the support staff. Sharon brings a wealth of experience having spent 14 years in Accounting in the hospitality industry, several years managing and operating family businesses in food manufacturing/festivals, restaurants and in the non-profit industry. In 2000 the Diocese of Southeast Florida with St. George's Episcopal Church & Center contracted Sharon to serve as Executive Director of their Non-Profit Organizations in Riviera Beach, Florida. Her company was responsible for the administration of their Outreach Ministries which included a full-service Community Center with a Feeding Program and a Federal Funded After School Program elementary level.
These programs provided vital services to homeless and low-income families in improvised neighborhoods. For her dedication and works in Riviera Beach, Florida the city honored Sharon with a proclamation naming May 17, 2008 Sharon Elaine Ferguson Day. She is certified by the University of South Florida and the Association of Food & Drug Official and the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) which governs food safety for Import and Export in the Bahamas, United States and Internationally. She continued her studies at Palm Beach State College and attained her Administrative and Directors Credentials for the State of Florida in Child Care and Development. A member of St. Agnes Church, and a former Miss Bahamas, Sharon is a widow and mother of two sons, two daughters and three grand children.
