International Finance Center

The Bahamian Government makes all effort to maintain and enhance the financial services industry in The Bahamas. Developments in the international financial markets are monitored, and rules, regulations and legislation are amended to preserve the financial services sector. Rules and regulations are in place to prevent the laundering of money from illegal sources, to promote high standards of conduct and banking practices and to continue the enforcement of bank secrecy laws. The government also supports the Central Bank of The Bahamas and the Association of International Banks and Trust Companies (AIBT) in the regulation of codes of conduct. The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) represents and promotes all sectors of the financial services industry including banking and private banking, trust services, mutual funds, capital markets, investment advisory services, accounting and legal services, insurance, real estate and corporate and shipping registry.
